Leydon lettings agency is the best student letting in Canterbury .Leydon Lettings has given me the best accomodation out of my whole student experience.

I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied by the service I received from this agency. I simply emailed a list of what I required and received a prompt response with a number of possible options and links to view pictures and information about the houses. I shortlisted a couple and then the agent arranged all the viewings on one day that was convenient for me. When the viewings day arrived I was met by a friendly face and a document that summarised all the information about the properties so that I could refer back to this afterwards in making my decision. Almost all the properties I viewed were perfect according to my criteria and price range. The only difficult thing about this process was actually choosing the property i wanted to go for in the end as there were so many solid options. After I finally decided I was contacted by another agent who was going to deal with the tenancy agreement signing process. This process was simple and straightforward and everything was done in a professional and friendly manner. I even requested to re-view the house I finally chose and they were happy to accomodate me. I will be moving in to the house in a few weeks and I am quite positive that I will be happy in my new home. Since signing my tenancy I have suggested Leydon Lettings Agency to a couple of people and one person actually ended up signing a tenancy agreement with them as well.

I was/am very happy with the services provided by Leydon Lettings. Prompt responses, reasonably priced houses, great service and very friendly/helpful staff.

Just in moved and a set of curtains needed replacing. Spoke to the girls in the office and a couple of days later and a contractor tu nee up to replace all of the curtains and nets. Bon Leydon himself then visited to check on the work and introduced himself. Very impressed and explained how he would like the bathroom and toilets re-tiled and tidied up.

Lovely room with en-suite. Television, dishwasher and modern kitchen. Queries are dealt with promptly.

I rented a house just off Sturry Road with 5 others from Leydon Lettings whilst I was at Uni in Canterbury. Bob and the rest of his team were always so helpful and the one or two issues that came up in the 2 years that we were there were solved really quickly and without any hassle. I wish all Landlords were so professional and caring!

Let me start with saying that I've just finished my MSc at the University of Kent while having studied my undergraduate there as well. For two of those years I was with Leydon and could not have predicted a better service. For the quick - too long; didn't read. They offer fantastic services, no deposit, lay out exactly what you will get in the house (What sort of furniture in each room, the en-suites sink, shower etc) while providing beyond excellent service in maintenance and feedback. They specialise mostly in students but also offer services to graduates and working professionals, owing to this they are unbelievably reasonable about student loans and rent. Like most of us they are not perfect however compared to every other student letting agent I've personally seen or dealt with - they are not even in the realm of competition. They go above and beyond the call of duty and level of satisfaction one would expect and show up every other competitor by a long shot! Mr Leydon himself (Bob, lovely gentlemen he is!) showed up in mid-December to give me a Christmas card and I cannot make that up as he handles upwards of 50 properties with most likely around 300+ clientele. The staff are polite, comedic and enjoyable - they make a point of treating you as a client and not a thorn in their side. Their maintenance team are superb and efficient, while their office team are always there to take a call or help you out. My University experience would be incomplete without them. Conclusively if you’re a student then I implore you to look no further as they are a phenomenal letting agent with fantastic service and experience. As well, I'll explain my exact personal experience with Leydon and other letting agents (None named however for non-slanderous reasons) below. In second year I lived with 5 other gentlemen and we had 7 bathrooms in the house! Now it may feel as if that sounds expensive but with only an admin fee to pay and no deposit (Obviously treating property with due respect regardless) it felt very reasonable - bearing in mind en-suite, double-bed etc are all reasons for potential price hikes. My rent for second year was far cheaper than that of on-campus accommodation - plus I had two rooms, a private study and my bedroom; for actual figures it was around ~6000 with all bills included (My friends paid around ~5500 without the extra study, still double-bed-ensuite). In my third year I was unable to proclaim a property with Leydon due to my own personal problems and reached out to other letting agents. During this period I was left with "Sorry the landlord/landlady does not want students.", outrageous rent prices for terrible conditions and absolutely insane deposit fees and contracts which would have robbed us both blind. Multiple letting agents, with all of them I felt discriminated and consistently placed on a waiting list for "Working professionals". Eventually we found a house and hoped it was over. We we're mistaken. That year we lost a deposit, was ignored multiple times about broken carbon monoxide alarms, boilers and much more. At one point the bath exploded in the evening and the landlady refused to send someone out, only for us to contact an emergency plumber; she later claimed the next door neighbour had fixed it - thus not reimbursing us for the callout. The front-door literally broke and fell off and left us with no security to our belongings for 2 weeks; we fixed the door in the end. The actual letting agent was not interested and left us to deal with the problems; as such we lost our deposit for reasons out of our control. Now I'm sure not all other letting agents are as bad as I described there, but what I can be certain of is that Leydon will not let you down like I was let down there. My final year was fantastic and smooth throughout while lacking any of drama provided by my previous year. I cannot explain the level of service provided because it really does go above and beyond what I have experienced and expected from a letting agent.

Staff at the agency and maintenance team are understanding and helpful when addressing any issues and quickly resolve them, easy to report any problems via phone or through an online system. Would recommend them for student housing in Canterbury, not too complex for those who have no experience with renting, impressed with the house we have with them and are happy to be staying there for another year.

I was very impressed by the service I received from Leydon Lettings. From all the different agencies I already rented a room with, this has been the best service by far. The tone of the communication with the staff members has been very friendly, fair and cooperative all the time and they were always quick to help me or to answer a question. In general, I got a reply regarding any concerns on the very same day, sometimes within an hour. Besides, the next steps to take were always clear.
